Column explains well that this is a regular occurrence. That people are making into a big deal is a sign of American exceptionalism. The only things unusual about this (and 2017 one) is that they are in the U.S. and visible to large number of people.

Seeing a solar eclipse is an awesome experience but not a religious one.

World would be better off if Americans got over the notion that the world revolves around them (us).

So much for science! Can we all say ignorance is not bliss. We need to find a way to ignore these faux-christians without accidentally amplifying their existence. Writing about them just seems to turn into an enlistment ad.

I know they will be disappointed when they are standing together with their arms outstretched and NOTHING HAPPENS. They really need to understand that when the Bible details the Rapture, it isn’t referring to you. You’re the lost sheep.
